Upgraded Lemon Drop
Your right. In the article I mention adding a touch of Cream Limoncello instead of some of the sugar. Makes it taste like creamy lemon meringue pie.
Cocktail Overhaul: Cosmopolitan
That sounds pretty good although I would still like to use a cranberry syrup instead of raspberry.
Cocktail Overhaul: Lynchburg Lemonade
@rabonour yes Bookers is a little pricey. You can try Wild Turkey 101 which is a rye whiskey really good and inexpensive.
Cocktail Overhaul: Lynchburg Lemonade
@scalfin I appreciate your opinion. To a certain extent I agree that there are many drinks out there with too many ingredients and you end up with muddled flavors. I however try to make sure every ingredient I add to the drink is essential to the end result, thus creating balanced and harmonious flavors. In this recreation the basic flavor profile is essentially the same. High proof bourbon for Jack Daniels, fresh lemon/lime/simple syrup/soda water for sweet and sour/sprite with the only real difference being subbing the orange flavored liqueur for a peach liqueur.
I am curious as to why you feel it has no relation to the basis?
Cocktail Overhaul: Lynchburg Lemonade
@Hungry Dan I am glad you enjoyed the article. To be honest I was only able to find one source that stated he won $1million but I have not been able to corroborate that info.
Cocktail Overhaul: The Appletini
@dorek I was not substituting Lillet Blanc for Kina Lillet. If I had wanted to do that I would have chosen something like Cocchi Americano. Instead I wanted the sweeter less bitter profile that Lillet Blanc provides.
The Honey Ryder (Upgraded Appletini)
@salsasis14 I choose Bluecoat because of it's citrus forward character. Tanquerary has a much more upfront and in your face juniper profile which I wanted to avoid in this cocktail.
@Putney Farm Thanks I appreciate that
Upgraded Long Island Iced Tea
@prixdc you can also use an iSi whipper. Just be sure to release the CO2 gas before opening and pouring out the drink.
Cocktail Overhaul: Long Island Iced Tea
@wildbluehugh thanks Enjoy
@scalfin I know there is a recipe for Moxie in Darcy O'Neil's book Fix the Pumps.

It would depend on how spicy you want it. I would say leave it in for at least 2 hours and then taste it about every hour. You want it to be spicy enough to bring some heat without overwhelming your taste buds or destroying a cocktail.
The Habaneros can have a shorter infusion time as they are much hotter than the jalapenos. Enjoy
