a Trader Joe's Disappointment

I've been to three of them in New Jersey, and they vary quite a bit. The one I use, in Marleton, NJ, an hour west from my Jersey shore home, does not offer the famous wine deals, but I treasure their whole grain English Muffins, molasses cookies, maple syrup, ciabetta bread, chocolate & nuts, cheeses, frozen mixed pepper strips and haricot vert (string beans) and frozen "appie tidbits", like the ginger chicken pastry cigars, and asian dumplings. Their small six or 8 inch frozen desserts are superb and easy to store in the freezer for impromptu drop ins. I am NOT a non-cook but it sure is nice to have a jar of Karma chicken cooking sauce on the shelf for a quick fix . No we can just get them to open up in Ocean County, I will be a happy camper.

Oh my, WHEN are THEY going to come up with that magic pill? Can you imagine this creation with a side of fettucine Alfredo?

Pro style pot pie

There's a place on Route 1 in Vero Beach Florida (can't remember the name) that has lines out the door for it's chicken pot pies. The oh so good filling comes in a large crock, covered with a huge top hat of puff pastry.
The waitress places the top hat of pastry on your plate, then ladles the filling over it. I imagine they prebake the top hats and crisp them up for serving...?

Wow, just when you think they've thought of it all.... I would prefer savory,
Maybe you could use a ravioli cutter or a dumpling mold to form them.

Look wonderful, but one thing, why can't we name the item called "toffee bits" by brand? Is it a candy ?

The English Muffin Experiment: Homemade vs. Store-Bought

I just wish that Thomas's would go back to having the original size for all their line, my kids used to love pizzas made with Thomas's but as they shrunk, they needed two or three of them. Why do manufacturers think we are fooled by cutting back on size and portions?
