Everyone Loves a Lemon Layer Cake

Agreed, where's the pic? I'm way more a visual person in that sense!

Cook the Book: Lidia's Italy

I always end my meal with a take home goodie bag of my double chocolate walnut biscotti, HANDS DOWN! I could make burgers for the main meal, but once they see my biscotti ... well that's what makes the crowd go wild!

From Serious Eats

Cook the Book: Nigella Express

When I use my food processor for a quick whirl of a few ingredients that I don't need to use the feed tube for, I stretch a piece of plastic wrap over the bowl and the lid so I only have to clean the bowl and the blade when I'm finished. It works like a CHARM!

I never knew ____ could be so complicated!

I struggle with making a stir fry. I end up making a mess and it looks nothing like what I order in a restaurant. Probably need to learn to plate my foods better. I'm a bad plater!

Immersion blender recommendations

I have a cheap Braun. Works just great. Yeah, sure it's stained ... but it's kept in a drawer in my kitchen and I only take it out when I use it and then wash it and put it away. No need for the expensive - stainless models unless you have gobs of money to throw away. It's just a wonderful kitchen gadget which I've had for 10+ years. The little food processor accessory is wonderful as well for salad dressing and grinding small amounts of herbs or nuts.

Ellie Krieger- Hype or the Real Deal?

Not too sure, but I do like her "look" also the look of the kitchen she cooks in. All very squeaky clean. Not that it makes her foods taste any better -- but for me it's all visual.

Ellie Krieger- Hype or the Real Deal?

Does anyone at all have her recipe for "Better Burgers with Green Olives"? I was trying to make it for dinner tonight but foodnetwork.com has erased any sign of it... and I can't find it anywhere online. Anyone?

Everyone Loves a Lemon Layer Cake

Just happened to have a dozen lemons lying around waiting for a purpose...A few alterations.. Cake flour.....and I it was real buttermilk, (the fat makes the crumb ya know!)... And as we are in da U.P. it was wild blueberries. The compliment I got was that " My mouth is so happy my tounge is delirious"

I would make my favorite comfort food - baked mac & cheese. There's chicken, walnuts, mushrooms, and a roux of gorgonzola, white cheddar, and bleu cheese. Topped with scallions, this is divine.

For a dessert, I would make rice pudding with lemon zest. It would be a carby, heavy entry, but everyone would be bursting with happiness and cheese.

Depends on the competition...

For cooking, I'd make my grilled Flank Steak (marinated with Indian spices) served with fresh sweet potato fries. Or maybe my Hungarian Goulash served with Basmati rice or Couscous. Both meals are always a huge hit for whoever I make it for.

For baking, I'd prepare my Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake, topped with fresh fruit and a drizzle of my dark chocolate ganache. Or maybe I'd make my famous Double Chocolate Peppermint cookies. They're a rich, fudgy cookie with a peppermint-confectioner's glaze.

I would prepare my tortellini salad with artichokes and lovely summer vegetables dressed in a oh-so-good herb viniagrette.

Wow. That's a hard one. I make some killer marinated chicken drumsticks every holiday party that people seem to like. I suppose I would fix those!
