BraveTart: Cookie Dough-Filled Reese's Cups

Btw, i'm pretty sure Walter would approve this, or maybe some future recipe should include his favorite: red vines (i wonder how would taste some chocolate covered red vines).

It's a shame that Fringe starts in 25min so i can't do this, instead i will go running down to the store to buy some of the real ones!!

New Favorite Candy Bar: Mui-Bon Avellana

Those are sold here in Mexico, but they aren't too popular, they are tasty but i agree, Ferrero Rocher are better (but so expensive!).

Btw, speaking of Nutella, Carey or or anyone else at SEHQ have tried Nocilla?? Is like the spanish version of Nutella (with less hazelnut but more chocolate), i discover it when i was in Spain during the summer, and was so happy to find it hidden between the nutella and peanut butter at Walmart here in Mexico! You should give it a try!! is sooo goood!!

Soda: We Try All 127 Flavors from the Coke Freestyle Machine

I tried a few weeks ago at the 5 Guys in downtown Phoenix, too many options is overwhelming, that day i decided something really simple like the good old Sprite, no Coca-cola because i don't like how it tastes on the US (i live in Mexico so, i stick to the mexican coke).

Cereal Eats: Mexican vs. American Cereal Showdown

@leandra is reeeally good!! if i could send a box to NY i would do!!

And those choco zucaritas con malvaviscos is a new product, probably released this year, now i understand why we have this huge obesity problem on mexican kids, if they are eating stuff like this for breakfast :s

Now i remember, as a kid i also loved cap'n crunch, the cereal was imported from the US (with some stickers written in spanish over the labels), a few years ago i bought a box, just to remember my childhood and ugh! i hated how they tasted, maybe the flavor changed or just my taste!

And is funny to make the comparision between mexican and US products, i live close to the US so for me is common to go there, and in each trip i go to walmart or target and buy some stuff i can't find here (mostly junk food like mtn dew, payday, doritos ranch), and sometimes you can really taste the difference between a product made on the US and those made here.

Cereal Eats: Mexican vs. American Cereal Showdown

I live in Mexico, so, i grow up eating all those cereals, Zucaritas isn't as good as before, now they have soooo much sugar, i remember eating them as a kid with banana, now, is impossible! now i ate zucaritas (probably one or twice per year, the box can stay for months in the pantry) just with plain milk and i can stand too many of them, super sweet!! after you finish the cereal and milk you can see the sugar on the bottom of the bowl.

Corn Pops are as good as before, was my favorite cereal, and also because you can eat as a snack.

But right now my favorite mexican cereal is Extra Pasion (made by kelloggs), the translation of the description on the website is this: peanut flavored corn flakes, mixed with chocolate flavored corn flakes, almonds and little bits of chocolate, i don't know if this version exists on the US, but is really good, is like dessert for breakfast but without the feeling of all those children cereals that are super sweet!!

The Food Lab, Drinks Edition: Is Mexican Coke Better?

I'm mexican who travels frecuently to the US, and i don't like the coke from the US, tastes different, you get this chemical after taste on your mouth after you drink it, maybe because i'm used to the flavor from the mexican coke, but each time i go to the US i prefer to drink pepsi or mountain dew. US coke no me gusta!!

The Food Lab: Ceviche And The Science Of Marinades

In Mexico we also have ceviche, the most common is pescado (fish) or camaron (shrimp) marinated with lime, onions, jalapeños, cilantro and tomato/clam juice, also, in the state of Sinaloa we eat something called aguachile (the translation would be the chilli-water), and is just butterfly shrimp with lime juice, chiltepin chilli, onions and cucumber.

Sweet Hacks: 10-Minute No-Bake Lime Cracker Pie

Here in Mexico we use galletas maria instead of ritz, but, maybe next time i will use ritz!

Yellow corn is not common here in Mexico, you usually just find it on cans, not on the cob, is tasty but i prefer the white corn.

Crop Freezes in Mexico Affect Grocery Prices in the U.S.

@hungrychristel the problem is that the tomatoes are cut from the plant still green, so, they ripe during the transportation, and arrive fully ripe to the stores, probably thats the reason why you don't like how it taste, but, if you're lucky enough to be close to where the tomatoes are grown, and they ripe on the plant they are great!!

Crop Freezes in Mexico Affect Grocery Prices in the U.S.

I live in Mexico, grow up in Sinaloa (my dad used to have a parcel were he grow corn or beans) and now live in Sonora, both states were the most affected by the cold, and the problem is really serious, not just because of the rise of the prices but, also, no vegetables = people can't work picking the vegetables, so, is like a domino effect.

And you know that the prices of vegetables are high if you go to eat out, for example to a taqueria and if they have a salad/vegetables bar they cut the vegetables in smaller pieces, put more water to the salsas, or the lemons instead to be cutted in half are in four pieces.

What Are Your 'Dollar Menu' Favorites?

Thats the mcdonalds pie?? baked? Yuupi for McDonalds Mexico, they sell the classic fried apple pie! not healthy? yes! delicious: YES! but still i prefer the Taco Bell empanada (and i'm pretty sure costs 1 dollar), but since there isn't any Taco Bell in Mexico, McDonalds wins!

A few years ago mcdonalds used to have a dollar menu here, well, the 10 pesos menu (later was 12 pesos), with the small fries, small drink, burger, sunday, apple pie, small order of chicken nuggets. Now they have the mctrio of the day, is one different meal per day, for breakfast cost 30 pesos (2.5dlls) and lunch/dinner 37 pesos (3dlls).

Burger King doesn't have any value menu, and Carls Jr neither

Btw, did you grow up in Sinaloa?? in your last post you said you grow up in the pacific coast, Rubio is a really common last name there, and your description of sopes is exactly is i ate them when i was a child in Sinaloa.

Day of the Dead Treats: Pan de Muerto

I haven't bought any pan de muerto this year, maybe later i'm gonna buy some at cityclub (is a mexican store like costco), they have pan de muerto filled in the center with cajeta (dulce de leche), custard and jelly, is not the traditional pan de muerto but is the favorite here at my house.
