14 Most Important New York City Restaurants of the Last 40 Years: Did Gael Greene Nail It?

I just saw this different version of Gael Greene's "Most Important" article on her website. Its looks a little longer than what was printed in New York Magazine, and she elaborated a bit more on her decisions of what she included, in case anyone is interested! Im sure she could have gone on and on in the matter of most important restaurants in New York's history (we all could!), but at some point I guess there is an editor to cut her off!

Without criteria this could have been a dart board exercise... I would suggest One if by Land redefined what it meant to be an 'occasion' restaurant for special events, particularly engagements.

Peter Lugers definitely. How many places, including former employees, have opened to replicate that experience?

and maybe some love for Delmonico's.

p.s.: i never proposed at One if by Land, no sentimental value.
