First kitchen was in a pool house , yes next to the pool, in Laurel Canyon California. I had a board covered with contact paper for a counter and cooked on a hot plate and toaster oven. I had a small refrigerator and did the dishes in the bathroom sink. It was the best of times; it was the wost of times. But it was the time and place to be.
