I agree with you cmckenna. I think the Salt Lick's sauce and thin and flavorless. Also, I don't think their meat is really that well smoked. I think people are more enamored of the experience than the food.
Joe's on W 2nd has a great pulled pork sandwich. I also love Iron Works at the corner of Caesar Chavez and Red River for any kind of BBQ.
I'm not too fond of Rudy's gas station BBQ, but Ruby's on the drag (address above) is great.
Molto Mario! He dominates graciously, and just seems like a good human being. What's not to love.
I recently moved to Santa Fe from Austin. I lived there for 4 years while I studied at UT; although I was always more concerned about the great food in town. An old grocery store in Hyde Park store that makes deli sandwiches to order. They have a wide selection of desserts, sodas, chips, and candy. They also have basic groceries.

I know I am in the minority, but I do not like the salt lick at all - I dislike the sauce and for me, BBQ is all about sauce.

Mario! I like Bobby Flay too for his personality--I think he's misunderstood, but Mario's food looks too good.
