De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies, Trenton, New Jersey

I would have to agree about the inconsistencies with the Hudson location, but when it’s ON it’s great. Hamilton Ave has always been consistent in my book. I hear Hudson is moving to the ‘Burbs in Washington Township?? Is this true? It would be nice to have another location that’s more convenient. Lately, we’ve been hitting a spot in the ‘Burbs in Yardville called Pizza Kitchen, they also make tomato pie and rumor has it the owner worked for one of the original DeLorenzos. They use that ‘sausage dolloped on the pie’ that I also grew up with from Hudson street. Beer and wine go great with pie, if you plan on bring some, go to Hamilton Ave, they have a bathroom, if you’re getting it to go, Hudson Street still taste good in a box…

I used to go to the Hudson St. DeLorenzo's when I was a kid. The waits were VERY log, but as many other people have said, it was well worth it. If you are a true tomato pie fan, check out Palermo's they have three locations now. The first store opened up in Bordentown on RT 206, the other two are located in Florence and Ewing. All three restaurants make a delicious tomato pie! I'd say their tomato pie rivals DeLorenzo's any day of the week! The best part is that the wait is nowhere near 2 hrs!

Homeslice - Hudson street is still open, at least according to http://www.delorenzostomatopies.com/ - however, if you don't feel like trekking down to Hudson Ave, their 2nd location is the the new shopping center that was build on Rt 33 near the Hamilton/Washington Twp border (specifically, they're near the Maggie Moo's).

However - call ahead if you plan on getting take out. Friends went last week, and were not doing takeout orders - only eating in, and there was a wait, to say the least.
