Cook the Book: 'Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book'

My boyfriend and I are Peace Corps volunteers in Guatemala. He has a 1x11/2 foot hand-made table-top grill he bought at a street market. We use kindling from a really sappy local pine to start the fire. We make our own bbq sauce (where do you buy bbq sauce in rural Guatemala?) and slather it on chicken pieces that comprised a living chicken just hours before. We wait on his porch while it pours rain for it to slow cook over the tiny pile of coals. Every time, it is the best bbq we've every tasted.

'No White' Diet: What Can We Eat?

I live in Guatemala and eat rely on corn tortillas as a staple in my diet. Are these okay to eat on this diet? They are hand-made with nothing but corn grown locally and organically.

'No White' Diet: What Can We Eat?

I am just starting this diet but I have a question about oats. Are whole oats okay, or steel cut oats? I live on a budget and rely on them as a staple breakfast food. I know I won't add milk or sugar but are the oats themselves acceptable in this food plan? Thanks for all the good tips on this site!
