Hahaha...very creative and haunting all at once. Loved it.
Would You Go to a Chain Restaurant on a First Date?
Depends on the girl and situation I guess. I have a couple spots in mind for non-chain places.

Chart of Big Burgers from Chain Restaurants
Cool stuff...I like seeing the lineup like that. Although it's tough to compare a fast food burger to a sitdown restaurant burger...but the gap is closing. I'm wondering how the BK Steakhouse XT will fare.

Hot Dog of the Week: Puka Dog
Yeah I remember Puka Dog from that Travel Channel show...Not sure the name...maybe Hot Dog Paradise or something...Puka Dog looks amazing...I like all the fresh fruit relishes they have.
Fresh Food on TV: Weekend Edition
Anyone check out Adam Richman from Man vs Food on Conan Friday night? Pretty funny stuff.

How to Make a Choco Taco
I just found found Klondike Choco Tacos at the grocery store. 99cents...of course I snagged one.
If you haven't guessed...I'm way too lazy to make them myself...very cool recipe though!
Potbelly Sandwich Works: Big Sandwiches for a Small Price
I'm craving Potbelly now...a sub chain that also serves milkshakes!
Who's The Most Serious Eater In Your Life?
Probably my cat Ozzy. :)
Coal Oven Alert: Coal Fire Pizzeria, Ellicott City, Maryland
If anyone is interested, we've got our impressions...

Hamburger America: Thurman Cafe in Columbus, Ohio
Looks great but I'd probably ask for another side of bun.
Culver City: Burger Hunting at Gyenari
Wow, look at that burger shine. Looks greasy and delicious. The onion rings look good too.

Macaroni and white cheddar with pancetta...that looks amazing.
Sudoku Pizza
Yeah JudgeFudge...I was thinking the same thing...where's the cheese?
Chart of Big Burgers from Chain Restaurants
No Steak and Shake? I know they are not everywhere, but either is Carl's Jr. We have Checker's, but in other places they are called Sonic. Then there's Hardee's. I know, I'm being a picky whiner. I guess I'm saying that places like Carl's Jr. and Krystal should be in another category--regional, maybe? But that might result in smaller chains, etc. I haven't been to any of these lately, but as I remember it from 8-10 years ago, Chili's wasn't that bad.

At least Culvers uses real meat, not the lovely formed and frozen patties that most other places use.

Culver's = diarrhea

What about Culver's they have awesome burgers too, They have a triple stack that puts all others to shame, but thats just my opinion,

The pastrami burger that Lexalpha mentioned has been refined to perfection in the Salt Lake City area, where one-off restaurants and local chains started by Greek immigrants have made it their signature specialty. No hamburger aficionado has truly lived until he/she has experienced a Crown Burger.

Not many of these look very good. I have had the Wendy's burger, but my preference would be to go to none of these restaurants unless they were the only option.

Excuse my ignorance, but the agencies who came up with these... did they develop the recipe, or do the restaurants bring them the recipe and tell them to promote it? How does this work, exactly?
The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles
What about the "cheese skirt" burger? There are several places doing this, one notable is the Squeeze Inn in Sacramento:

Now that was by far one of my favorite burger posts I've seen! Way to get them all in one blog.

What a collection!!! I'm partial to steakhouse, kobe and fast food. Quite the variety, I know. :)

@everyone: Thanks for the kudos! This was a lot of fun to put together, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sorry if it made you hungry, but dems da breaks!
@KingT: What would you say makes a '30s-style burger? Given what I've read about burger history, I'd guess it would either be a slider (since White Castle all but revolutionized burgerdom in the late '20s and up to WWII) or a slider-style burger (a little larger but cooked in a similar fashion).
@shanella: I'm only responsible for the first photo; the rest are Flickr Creative Commons–licensed or used with permission of the photographer. I know that any of Nick Solares's or Robyn Lee's are dSLRs (Nikon D300 and Canon 20D, respectively). For any of the others that link to Flickr, you can click through and look to see if the photographer has EXIF data for the photo. That should tell you camera make/model.

@Adam what type of camera are you using??? These pics are awesome!

What about the 30's style? did I miss that?
The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles
This may be its own category...or all of the above.
From my experience it was very difficult to finish both the pint and the burger.
A culinary experience indeed.
The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles
Very educational for us foodies Adam. Thanks for pointing out the difference between a slider and a mini burger...i always thought they were the same. I like the part about the fast food burger! lol! I think you're right about the kobe burger cause i enjoy the slight rubberiness of the minced meat against the soft bread in a regular burger...the kobe has enough brilliance to stand on it's own! What they call pimento cheese in the U.S. is what we call cheese paste in caribbean, and is often a combination of grated cheddar, mayo, grated onion, diced peppers and hot sauce, and is usually slathered between sandwich slices, cut into cute bite size triangles and served at parties.
The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles
Noosh: I was starting an entry on them, but got so pooped out by that time (it was about 4 a.m.) that I just ended at bean burgers. Will look for a good photo of an Aussie burger and include it.
The AHT Guide to Hamburger and Cheeseburger Styles
I realise that this is about American burgers, but just for interest: in Australia it's an "Aussie" burger if it has sliced beetroot on it (and probably onions too, though possibly raw). However, the essential ingredient to make a pizza an "Aussie pizza" is egg cracked over the top just before it's put in the oven.
We're a weird bunch.

"I would eat ANY of these marvelous burger creations except for the guberburger....peanut butter on beef? Not feeling that one at all!"
lol... This is the most appealing burger on here IMHO...
"How about the "other than beef" catagory....turkey, bison, etc."
and to that, I second HeartofGlass-- I'm vegan. There are a ton of veggie burgers out there, both "fast food" and grocery store options

In any case, I think it's the toppings that make it exciting, and the ethnic variations give you alot of options. One simple one I don't see here is the diner option topped with a big fat onion ring. The best veggie burger I ever had was at Kelsey's, when I had it it was served on a sourdough chiabata-style bun with smoked mozzarella & garlic mayonnaise
First Look at Citi Field Stadium Food
I thought the hot dogs were pretty bad. Walked around the stadium but could not find something that would appeal to me. The worst part was not the food. It was the offensive padding down "frisk" that a male guard did to my body at the entrance. I should have said to him, "Keep your hands off of me you stinking dirty ape!" How offensive to Met fans. They actually put there hands on you and feel you up to see if they find "something". I'll probably not return again! Not because I find the hot dogs not so good, but because they are offending Met fans by "feeling up" their bodies. Jerks!
Hamburger America: Thurman Cafe in Columbus, Ohio
Some of the best burgers! Always very fresh, the meat is juicy and soft consistency...not dried out.
Potbelly Sandwich Works: Big Sandwiches for a Small Price
I love this place and so sad that there are none in North Jersey where I have moved.....was in Philly the other day and planned a stop on the way home....got the tuna, no cheese, pickles - L&T and HOT PEPPERS.....also bought 2 jars of the peppers to bring home. A few weeks ago I had to eat with a co-worker at a Quizno's and made them toast the tuna with no cheese and they asked 3 times and even had the manager come to verify what I had requested. Sadly that wasn't even close to having a Potbelly sandwich. After I ate the other day, I regretted not getting the large - I contemplated ordering a 2nd regular but thought the staff might think I have an eating disorder - the only disorder is that I don't have a Potbelly near me!
Video: Marshmallow Murder
wow. that was actually hilarious and disturbing all at once.

There are vegetarian/vegan marsh recipe's out there...
Would You Go to a Chain Restaurant on a First Date?
I would not be the least put out by going to a chain for a first date, as long it was at least somewhat classy. However, my most recent flame cooked our first meal together for me all by himself in his own kitchen, and we are now engaged. :]
Would You Go to a Chain Restaurant on a First Date?
My first EVER date was at McDonalds. I was in 5th grade though so it was all i could afford.
