I love to make my own sauce from home grown tomatoes. It takes awhile, but it's worth it.

When I first got married I wanted to have our families over for a nice Turkey dinner. Well, my dressing was horrible and I didn't take the gibblets out of the turkey before I roasted it. I was so embarrassed.

My mother use to make oven fried chicken every Sunday. It was my favorite meal and one I can't replicate perfectly yet.

I don't have a large space, so I'm doing tomatoes, peppers (banana & green), and cilantro. I intend to can my own salsa this year and freeze some tomatoes to use in my crab soup during the winter. Next year we're adding a strawberry patch and expanding my garden to include more herbs.

I don't remember any specific fortunes from any cookies I had. I usually stick them in my purse and put them in my husbands lunch box the next day. I remember him calling me one day and telling me his said something about him "getting lucky tonight". Let's just say that one didn't come true. LOL

No one person taught me to cook. When I got married I would just pick up the phone and call my mom or my mother-in-law to tell me what to do. Then I progessed to reading a cook book and then when we got cable, I started watching the cooking channel. I'm finally to the point where I can cook on a whim. I spend my time now looking for ideas.
