How do you save your recipes?

I have 2 bookmark folders: "Recipes- need to try" and "Recipes- Keepers" then inside those folders they are broken down into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Sides, Desserts, Baking.... They are getting a little out of control so I should probably switch to Evernote, I've heard great things about it.

I love the satisfaction of moving something into the keepers folder.

Chain Reaction: Culver's

That's interesting that you say they are too buttery because the last time I had one I was saying "where's the butter?!" (the beef was there at least).

And I agree on the fried curd assessment- they are average for Wisconsin, but if I'm out of state and I want some fried curds they can satisfy the craving. I find the best curds are at places where they batter them to order vs. having them pre-breaded and frozen and just dropping them in the fryer. Freshness of the curd is also important.

Moving to Tampa, is there anything good to eat?

My boyfriend and I were visiting his cousin in St. Pete just for a few days but we found a hidden gem- Ricky P's Po Boys. The shrimp are fresh, perfectly fried, not greasy at all, and best of all they don't skimp on the shrimp!

We tried a couple other decent places but that was definitely the most memorable for me. :)

Should Meat Eaters Slaughter Their Own Meat?

I was listening to the radio on the way to work and this woman called in to say she didn't like that her neighbor hung a deer in his garage and gutted it with the door open because her 7 year old might see it. The DJ asked "wouldn't it be good for him to see where his meat comes from?" I'm paraphrasing here but she said something like " That's not how we get OUR meat. We just don't eat that way. "

Umm...where do you get your meat then? Do you pick hamburgers off a hamburger tree?

I was yelling at the radio! Thought of all my Serious Eaters :)

Served: The Restaurant Coupon Invasion

I agree with @breezypdx - if a restaurant brings me in with a Groupon, I don't feel obligated to come back. If the food is good I will, if its not, why on earth would I spend more money there?

Business owners need to find out if Groupon is right for them. A quick google search would provide a ton of information on Groupon. It's no secret Groupons notoriously attract deal-hungry no-tippers, and the first day and the last day of the Groupon are usually the days most people decide to use them. Businesses have to decide if it is right for them. In some cases it makes since- I got a month of group fitness classes for half off, and I liked them so much I have renewed my membership at full price two times over. It probably didn't cost the gym much (if anything) extra to have me in the class for a month- but now they have a regular customer. Restaurants meanwhile, have so much to consider- will they have enough staff to handle the influx? Will the customers tip? Will the Grouponers annoy the regulars?

The choice is yours young grasshopper, choose wisely.

Best deep-fried cheese curds in Milwaukee?

@dmcavanagh- I haven't met a "bad" cheese curd but there are definitely better ones. Some (most?) places just have big bags of frozen curds and just drop some in the fryer when they get an order. Old Fashioned uses a buttermilk batter and they bread them in house and I *believe* they bread them to order. They also have a bunch of delicious yummy sauces - because fried cheese isn't enough, you need to dip it in a mayonnaise based sauce :)

WHAT'S YOUR SECRET INGREDIENT?

I add spinach whenever possible, soups, omelets... my favorite is a handful of spinach in a smoothie! You can't taste it and its an easy way to get in some extra veggies, as long as you don't mind the green color :)

Are your parents unadventurous eaters?

My BF and I talk about this all the time, my Mom is very adventurous, but both his parents and my Dad would be happy to eat standard American food for every meal.

I took my Dad to a wood-oven pizza restaurant, and ordered a margarita pizza since it was one of the tamer ones on the menu. He picked the basil off. *sigh*

I actually kind of like it. I am a Starbucks iced tea fan, I worked there for a while and would always drink tea on my break. When in comes to iced coffee and tea a tall doesn't count in my book because you can drink that in like, 2 sips. So it makes sense to up all the sizes.

Wow. I'm surprised people actually like Wendy's fries. They are too soggy to me, but then again I always want the extra crispy little fries at the bottom of the container. I remember when I was a kid my dad used to ask for them extra crispy and they were pretty good. Maybe Im making that up?

Thanksgiving Mac & Cheese Recipe

I am doing my own experimentation with mac and cheese and I made a baked recipe with a roux and some buttery garlic croutons on top. It had delicious flavor but I was missing the creaminess.

http://down2eat.blogspot.com/2010/10/quest-for-best-mac-and-cheese.html

Sooo I made Alton's stove top mac and cheese and OMG...so creamy and delicious!! I might try his baked version next.

Also agree with @MMinNYC that shapes are fun. Macaroni is the tradition but I think rotini holds the sauce just as well if not better.
