Di Fara Closes to Cater Wedding
No fancy wedding cake; we made do with multiple cheesecakes from Junior's.

New Yorkers can enjoy a sampler of The Bent Spoon's handiwork at the New Amsterdam Market on Sunday from 11:00 till 4:00. At last December's Wintermarket they brought along cranberry cider sorbet as well as fresh ricotta and honey nougat gelatos.
Their last Fish Fry Friday of the season? But summer is just getting started!
Here's a closeup of the billionaire's bacon atop what Sip calls eggs in a basket.
Seating at Sip is snug, it should also be noted.
Nice! Usually, though, I wipe first, then regret the lack of wet naps.
Good cutaway photo, Joe! It illustrates why "handle" deserves those quote marks: That lamb rib is little more than decoration. It's much harder to show the meaty, juicy inside of the samcy; my only good "interior" shot...

I've seen those mangosteens too, mh330, perched out front of the fruit stand outside Tu Qunyh Pharmacy, on the Bowery, but that was months ago. As onedaylingers writes, they're sitting on that white cooler almost like after-dinner mints, or in this case, after-durian mangosteens. "Fiery" durian I wouldn't say, though; they're heaty but creamy, too.
More than at most places in Manhattan's Chinatown, other customers at New Yeah Shanghai Deluxe are happy to offer recommendations. I've discovered a lot of amazing food that way.
I'm sorry to hear that about Able Bagel--the owners were so nice, and the bagels were the small, dense, flavorful kind that is now a dying breed.
My friends who were Pton students and some Pton professors used to go to PJ's--yes, it's more crowded when parents come to visit it, but when I went it was better than your average diner fare.
PJ's Pancake House burnt down well over 5 years ago but has been open for several years -- and not a bad option if you don't mind long lines and hefty prices for typical breakfast food. I don't know many locals who frequent PJ's -- usually the lines are of weekend visitors. Sorry HeartofGlass but Abel Bagel closed sometime this past winter. And Halo Pub is the best deal around for American style ice cream -- love their vanilla almond with tons of almonds. But the quality and flavors cannot compare to The Bent Spoon.
I think PJ's Pancake House burned down, didn't it? Agree that Hoagie Haven and Halo Pub are the best in Princeton...but when I was there, The Bent Spoon was not yet, alas.
I was just at Halo Pub a few weeks ago, so it's definitely still there, and I agree it's too bad it didn't get a mention in this post. I used to live off the milkshakes there. : ) Thanks for alerting me to the Bent Spoon, though. I'll look for it next time in Pton.
^I wanted to add the Halo Pub--because it is THE place to go and wasn't mentioned, I was afraid it was closed!
For Chinese food=Karen's Chinese Kitchen is good, btw. And Teresa's for trattoria Italian food, plus the JB Winberie for burgers and American food, Laherie's for expensive French.
The best ice cream in Princeton is at Halo Pub. They have so many good flavors, all homemade, and it's so cheap! Their chocolate with strawberries may be my favorite ice cream ever.
It looks like there will be a "Return to Princeton - Reader's Choice Edition" somewhere in the future. Stay tuned...
Hoagie Haven is a must see when visiting Princeton.
The best thing at the Catch is their macaroni pie, it is the best macaroni I have ever tasted in my life.
I didn't like Artichoke and am very disappointed in all who wait on line for access to so inelegant a slice of pizza. The artichoke slice is not pizza; it is a gratin. And though the toppings on the regular slice are good and the color of the crust is nicely blackened, the texture of the crust is awful: thick, heavy, charred plaster board.
To be brief, this pizza lacks both the elegance of a New York masterpizza and the thrill of a oozy, on-the-brink of a great NYC slice.
