Dear AHT: Best Burger in Wisconsin at Kroll's West in Green Bay
I go to the Kroll's in Chicago and it is really good. They have 2 patty styles though, the thin patty and the thick. I usually order a double with the thin patties, which are fantastic, but I once got the thick patty by mistake and it wasn't very good. They also have great fries and I'm convinced anytime a burger is served wrapped in wax paper, it automatically tastes better. Also, you can't leave out the cheese curds.

I think this was the best way to handle this price increase, it's still a good deal and probably my favorite item at McD's

Special Burger from Kuma's Corner in Chicago: Fatty Melt + Bologna + Mustard
Kuma's has the best burger I've ever had, all their burgers are fantastic. I'm going to have to try this one, my favorite is the Clutch (they name all of their burgers after heavy metal bands).

Sliders have gotten too expensive, at the White Castle near my house they are advertising .69 cent sliders and .79 with cheese. For an extra .20 cents I can got McDonalds and get a double cheeseburger. For the amount of meat they have on them, they should cost .20 cents.

I live near Chicago and for years they have been running Sonic commercials on TV, when the nearest one was in Indiana. Well, we finally got a Sonic here over the summer and the years of commercials really have hyped the place up. The average afternoon lunch wait is about 2 hours and the line for the drive thru winds through the Walmart parking lot that is next door. As for the food, it's good fast food.. on par with Whataburger or Hardee's, definitely not worth the 2 hour wait.

I just ate at Epic Burger about a week ago and I thought it was decent. The fact that they are calling the place "Epic Burger" should mean one of the best burgers ever, which it is not. The patties are thin with a crispy edge and there is no pink in the middle. They put sauce on the burger (basically big mac sauce), but you can't taste it, it just adds moisture. It is a good burger and for the price ($10 which includes a drink and a HUGE order of fries) it's well worth the trip if you live in Chicago. The menu is very basic, just burgers, fries and burger toppings.

Kuma's Corner might be the best burger I've ever had. The problem is that the place is really small, it only has about 10 tables and the kitchen is the size of a walk in closet. It already takes about 2 hours to get a table and this publicity won't help. It's still worth the wait...

I have lived in Green Bay for most of my life and Kroll's used to have good burgers, but not anymore. They are small, chewy lifeless patties, likening them to the school lunch burger is about right. All that butter on top does not cover up a bad burger patty. When I want a burger, I head north towards Door County to a country bar, Joe Rouer's, in Duval. Good burgers and great bloody mary's at a good price.

I have never had any alcohol when I've gone to Kroll's, which may have something to do with why I've never appreciated their hamburger. You can't taste the meat, much like eating at McDonald's. The flavor all comes from the condiments. There's some kind of garbage dealing with whether you want a hard or soft roll, but I've never been able to decipher which one is better. Just eat a stick of butter.

I'm actually okay with this, since I usually didn't like the massive amounts of cheese on the double cheeseburger. They had to do something to address the fact that this was a massive loss leader for them, and I think this was the best option.
(And, when they've had it, the "Triple cheeseburger" was really a triple patty with double cheese).

Wow--I had no idea this many people were excited about Sonic! I live in Oklahoma City where Sonic is headquartered and my entire life myself and everyone I know has gone to Sonic, but no one is that excited about it. It is really not that great, there are just so many of them everywhere (about four near my home now!) that it is mainly just out of convenience. They really are not as good as in the "old days" -- they just have a fantastic marketing department (believe me, I have a friend who works there). But as other posters have said, the cherry limeade is the thing to get if you go. Just don't expect a great burger. Most people here prefer Johnnie's Burgers.

We just got a Sonic last summer. As far as their hamburgers go, A&W is better and In & Out by far the best. The toaster sandwiches, onion rings, tots, and cherry and strawberry limeades are where it's at. But I HATE their stupid commercials!! Thank goodness for TiVO so I don't have to change the channel every time I see one!

The main places I've seen Sonic ads on cable in NYC has been on the Atlanta-based Turner channels (TNT, etc), and it sounds like the ads are part of the satellite feed for those channels. The space they set aside to sell to local businesses in the markets they service tends to get filled with spots that are *really* local.
