Brunch/Dinner group in Manhattan

Hi, thanks for brunch recs, but I'm not looking for places to brunch. I'm looking for other foodies who want to get together for brunch. I thought the post was clear, but maybe not.

Win Tickets To Brooklyn Beefsteak, September 25

My mom ate 18 hot dogs in one sitting when she was pregnant with me, so eating a lot of meat is in my blood.

Restaurant week. Worth It?

The safe answer--coming from a lawyer--is, it depends. I did not, as some others did, find Maialino to be worth it. Nobu was good. I liked Firebird Russian. I'm going to more this week and next week, as I think it's a fun excuse to try many new restaurants. I did it this past winter and last winter and summer. It's hit or miss, really.

Win Tickets to the James Beard Foundation Awards, Monday, May 9, in NYC

I'm a New Yorker and can't decide between the two New York options. I'm going to go with Girl & the Goat because I have heard so many great things.

Eataly: An Eight-Figure Bet on Authenticity

I wrote about the opening of Eataly on my blog. It doesn't make me happy, as I see it taking business away from the mom-and-pop Italian businesses for which New York is known. These privately-owned businesses close every year and with them, so does a culture and way of life.

Watch the Di Fara Documentary 'The Best Thing I Ever Done'

Only I would cry from watching a documentary on pizza. It was great. I went to Di Fara's this summer. Thank you, Dom, for keeping tradition alive in a world where it is constantly under attack.

What's So Great About North Carolina Barbecue? An Exam of the Lexington Style

I've lived in Raleigh and the place to get BBQ here is Cooper's downtown. Personally, I'm a fan of Ole Time Barbecue. Both are experiences and great roadfood stops.

Farmington Hills, Michigan: Tomatoes Apizza, a Gem Hidden in Plain Sight

I haven't eaten here, so I can't judge the pizza. But looking at the pic--the dough looks too fresh and that's not really what good dough should look like.

The 'United Plates': Food-Themed Prints of All 50 States

I agree I wanted to like these but every state I have a connection to I either couldn't tell what it was or it had nothing to do with the state. What are NJ and TN? And salad for NY? Cherry pie for NC? Hmm...
