I have read in multiple places to eat something with a 3:1 carb:protein ratio before a run and after for long or high intensity runs. I like to eat peanut butter on a banana or I have homemade energy bars.
Vegetarian tripe has to be the weirdest faux meat I have ever heard of.

The market is called "Asian Market". I think it is basically Chinese and there are a couple aisles devoted to Korean and Japanese foods. I think it is similar to the Great Wall supermarket.
