Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Bacon of the Month Club

Crispy is the absolute best, especially if it's a little chewy. But really - it's BACON. As long as it's mostly cooked, I'll eat it.

How in the world do you choose? It's like choosing which child you prefer!

If I'm in a serious chocolate pig out, I go for milk chocolate - I can eat much more of that at one time.

But most of the time, I'd rather let a good, high percentage piece of dark heaven melt on my mouth.

Batali vs. Bittman Pasta Saucing Smackdown: Who's Right?

D), Neither is correct. Food preferences are too personal of a choice to have absolute statements. If you enjoy eating ketchup on your pasta, then that's what's right for you.
I tend to cook more in the Bittman-style because I love lots of veggies. And really, for me, there's never enough sauce to dip my bread in.

Picky Eaters Unite: It's Not Your Fault

I definitely have this gene. But I love to try new foods, and there are definitely things that I'll eat now that I wouldn't have touched as a teenager. Some things - like mayo - I still won't go near, though.

I have more of a texture problem.. I love the taste of strawberries, but can't stand the hairs and seeds in my mouth. I like the taste of onion, but can't abide the texture. I can't get past the smell of cooked cabbage or broccoli. And yogurt and whole milk I just can't get down. When I diet, I eat raw veggies, broiled or pan fried meat (in Pam), and I drink tons of water, but sweets are my downfall. I have tried to make myself eat the "good stuff" for me, but I'm over 50 and I doubt I can change much now.

My favorite joint, alas, doesn't exist anymore: Cajun Pe-Te's, just outside the gates of Ellington (formerly an) Air Force Base.

Black's in Lockhart. They will cut the point and the flat together if you ask.

Depends on the type of barbeque!

For sliced beef, Jerry Neel's in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
For chopped pork, Bullock's in Durham, North Carolina or the Blues Hog 'cue wagon from in northeast Missouri when it vists St. Louis.
For chicken, 17th Street Bar & Grill in Fairview Heights, Illinois or Donahue's in Fenton, Missouri (the original owner has passed away, but his daughter gave me the recipe!).
For sausage, the house-made product at 17th Street Bar & Grill.
For ribs, Super Smokers in St. Louis or (when they are good) the Rendezvous in Memphis.
For barbecue spaghetti, the Interstate in Memphis.
And for burnt ends, Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City!

I love Becky's BBQ in Middletown , RI. Great pulled pork sammies and the BEST potato salad . Tiny place but great BIG taste .

Bone Daddy's BBQ in Midland, Michigan. They also have a location in Saginaw, MI. Their prize-winning sauce is fantastic!
