What Inspired You to Start Your Own Food Website?
My site is Cooking for Kids.
I had been a journalist and author for over 15 years. About 5 years ago, I made the switch to food writing when I became interested in the struggles we parents have with feeding our kids.
From finding kid-pleasing recipes to coping with picky eaters to managing the mealtime rush during sports season to finding ways to fill up hungry teenagers, it can be overwhelming. I wanted to use my skills to help busy parents.

That's so funny that you said pesto -- that's what I've been doing for years. Kale pesto is my new favorite. I vary the type of nuts and cheese, too, sometimes.
As far as storage space for greens, when I'm washing, I also chop my greens into bite-sized pieces. I like that better for salads anyway, and having it ready to go makes it easier to make salads.

Where do you get those silver balls to decorate with? I haven't seen them in the grocery stores in ages. Catalog? Online?
