Tipping for Carry Out?

I'm with @robmarais. I live in downtown Cincinnati, and I often get take out from local restaurants. Usually, I grab a drink at the bar, order, and maybe have another drink while I wait for my dishes, then bring it back home. I always tip the same as if I ordered and ate at the restaurant. I've found that bartenders are more willing to entertain substitutions, special requests, and I get better bar service.

New York's First Steak 'n Shake Opens Tomorrow

Steak and Shakes around Cincinnati are usually OK, but you won't see people lined up around the block, that's for sure. @bobcatsteph3 is right about the wait.

Sounds like they stepped up their game for NY.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Counter Culture Coffee Subscription

I used to be able to drink coffee all the time. Now it's a toss up if it'll hurt my stomach or not. I've been missing it, but recently found a workaround--Vietnamese coffee jelly shots. Obscenely strong coffee, a can of sweetened condensed milk and gelatin. Mix. Chill. Enjoy.

With Taqueria Mercado a few blocks away from our apartment, and having indulged in some choriqueso when I have actually had a hangover, I can fully attest to the accuracy of this post.

Also, I am now down to only half a pound of extra melt! Looks like I'll be calling up my dealer soon.

The Secret Ingredient (Chipotle): Chipotle BBQ Oven Ribs

Instead of ketchup, try using tomato puree1 I use san marzano, but you don't have to be fancy. Then you can add the vinegar and sugar to sweeten and tang it up to your liking. It give some more control over the final product.

I am in the market for a blender..

Love our kitchenaid. it was around $100, so a little pricey, but it's still going strong and we use it pretty heavily--my husband makes smoothies in the AM, I make mixed drinks in the PM. Also, not a lot of little parts and dishwasher safe container.

Annoying Lunch Habits of Coworkers

Where I work, I was put in charge of training the newbies. As if sitting side by side by my computer in a small cube was not uncomfy enough, the person I trained awhile back insisted upon eating special K bars every two hours to "keep his metabolism up". He would eat them noisily with his mouth open, then spend the next 30 minutes sucking the stuck bits out of his teeth. It got to the point that when he reached for a special K bar, I would suddenly have to use the restroom--and then I would flee.

Put your shopping carts back where they belong, Please!

Also, in response to the few comments stating "I'm supplying jobs, yes, that's it, jobs, by leaving my cart where it can hit someone's car.", this attitude is not new, and it STILL doesn't make sense. See here:
