Cook the Book: The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper
Iron Chef Morimoto: Will you please cook for me?
Iron Chef Morimoto: Will you please cook for me?
I just wanted to correct something you said (and Crissy says in the article), that buying something you don't need always wastes money. At CVS (and the other drugstores to some extent), I'm discovering that this isn't true. I've actually written about it several times because it's so counter-intuitive. But I've come to accept that to get the very best deals at CVS, I have to buy things I don't need. (See Mommy Making Money's explanation for why this works here.)
Congratulations! As you may have already found, pregnancy affects your eating habits in weird ways. I found myself eating every couple of hours during the day, but I never woke in the middle of the night starving like many of my friends did. I did want to encourage you to stick to those weight-gain guidelines as much as possible - my friends who gained more than 40 pounds almost all had complications, ranging from "keep an eye on that" minor conditions to more serious conditions like gestational diabetes. It's not exactly easy to do, since sometimes it seems our body wants to gain X number of pounds no matter what, but what you're doing (i.e., eating a sensible diet) is the best thing. I particularly liked that I could eat a lot of eggs when I was pregnant without feeling any guilt - it's so good for the baby!
Alas, my only real craving during stressful times is chocolate.
Hmm, I'm not sure who taught me more about cooking, my mom or my dad. When I was growing up, they both cooked a lot and taught me how to cook, and since they're better at different things, I learned a lot. If pressed, I'd have to choose my dad, though, since he's the one who taught me how to clean the kitchen as I cooked!
This post took me right back to my childhood! I used to eat these at the train station, although Pocky was always my favorite - these had too much chocolate in proportion to the cookie for me. I love seeing them in the Japanese market though. And I just might have to try the vanilla!
Right now I'm craving a baked sweet potato!
I've been cooking with a lot of gouda lately - yum!
Milk chocolate, absolutely!
Johnathan Gold: Where can I get good Mee Krob?
I would ask Alton Brown if he would come to my house to cook.
Rachel Ray
Is she ever unhappy?
Rachael Ray - Why do my 30 minute meals take longer than your 30 minute meals?
Lets see, this question really has a few different answers. I would like to interview Alton Brown just because I love his show and want to see what he is like in real life. One of the most interesting people to interviews would be Paula Dean since she is such a character. Finally, if I had to pick someone purely on good looks (and probably good food too) I'd have to choose Giada De'Laurentes.
Paula Deen - Are the food/vacation specials you've done as fun as they look and where are you and your family going next?
i would interview martha stewart and i would ask her why she doesnt do anymore gardening on her show..i really miss that show marth stewart living show she had before she went to the big house :(
I would interview Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes and ask him how he overcame his difficult teen years to become a successful chef and does he have any advice for teens who are struggleing.
