Tofucken, the Vegetarian Turducken, and Other Interesting Meat Marriages

There's now a recipe for "turbaconducken" going around...usual turducken, but with bacon wraps. For all.

If you like bacon... ;-)

Dear Serious Eats: 'I Have Searched for Years for This Recipe; Please Help'

Pancakes are the first thing I thought of...although I keep wanting to say "cornbread"! (But I think she would have mentioned cornmeal.)

Cooking With Kids: Different Approaches to Baby Food

My son ate everything until he was about 5...everything. Guacamole. Calamari. Steak. Potatoes. Veggies. And this was at home and in restaurants.

Then it all changed and we went through a four-year period of PB&J, mac and cheese (Easy Mac, no less), and hot dogs.

It's only been the two years that he's back to eating a wider variety of foods again. And I love to have him help me in the kitchen :-) (He made the cornbread tonight and he makes a great batch of pancakes!)

The Next Food Network Star, Episode 5 Recap: Don't Screw Up In Front of Bon Appetit Judges

So the judges tell the cheftestants to be more personable and to share their stories. Then they ask them if (in this case) they have ever cooked Beef Wellington before. Kelsey says "yes", and remembering what she's been told, says "in cooking school". And is criticized.

How are they supposed to know how to answer the questions if the rules keep changing? ;-)

Cook the Book: The Serious Eats Chocolate Lover's Library

I have a fudge recipe that my mom taught me 40 years ago that I love. The closest I've seen to it is an old Hershey's, but the amount of milk is different. It's melt-in-your-mouth yummy :-)

Where To Find Fried Pickles on the East Coast

I love fried pickles but I thought your comment about spears was really weird because I find the exact opposite to be true. The chips tend to get soggy and cold much faster than the spears. Which made sense to me because the spears are crunchier in the first place. I actually avoid places that have chips. Hooters for example has the chips. Which almost everywhere has a hooters so there you go but I don't go because I want the real thing. The full on spear and if you're lucky and you're at Little River BBQ in Townsend, TN then you get the special sauce too (some sort of sweet mustard). It's absolutely the best. Chips really?!!? So confusing....

How did I ever miss this? Toots was my first exposure to fried pickles back in college over 10 years ago! Now, Jockamo's is my place to get my fix!

We (I have four kids) are known for our trifles. I LOVE them because it is a wonderful dessert for children to prepare. They are forgiving and also fabulous. We do a wonderful brownie trifle with coffee flavored brownies, chocolate pudding, whipping cream and shaved chocolate.
