Chain Burger Brackets: Burger King vs. Hardee's

What the heck is going on here! Are you people serious. None of the places I have voted for are fairing well. Its the Whopper. The Whop-ER! Really. Classic.

Atlanta: Ann's Snack Bar

I understand that Midtown Jimmi. I didn't mean to come off as anything bad against the establishment. I apologize if I did. I was just saying that you shouldn't be afraid to ask for a "Ghetto" burger if thats the name of the burger. Thanks Midtown!

Uncomfortable? What are you uncomfortable about? Order a Ghetto Burger and get out of your shell for offending someone. Its food. Besides, this place has been an Atlanta landmark for years and years. People have tried to buy her out and make her something that she doesn't want to be. She is all about running the best business she can and she does it damn well. She can have any attitude she wants and honestly I hope she scares away folks that are intimidated by her. Less wait time for the real customers who honestly know what Ms. Ann is all about. The burger and slaw dogs are darn good. Be patient and you will get yours in time. But please do visit her establishment with no preconcieved notions and take it for what it is....one the the most authentic, no-holds-barred burger joints the the United States!

Cook the Book: 'Mad Hungry'

STEAMED or FRIED DUMPLINGS ........
From my favorite Chinese spot, Tasty China. Its north of Atlanta. People are reluctant when they see them on the table surrounded by wings, pizza, miniature quiches, and other traditional, or dare I say run-of-the-mill, Super Bowl foods. But when they pop one in there mouth...word spreads fast and they are gone! Try it out a see what happens! What do you have to lose? Im sure you can find some in your area.......... 4 days and counting.

Notes from the South: Chitterlings from Busy Bee in Atlanta

My mother fries her chit-linz and she also stews them. When fried they look like pork skins! I prefer stewed and thats also the method she prefers to prepare the most. They are then served over white rice with the gravy from the pot. Boiling them sounds like they just throw them in a pot without any seasonings, scoop them out, and there you have it. When stewed with onions, green peppers, and salt and pepper they are actually quite appealing and beyond tolerable. But beware, there IS an art to cleaning and preparing chit-linz and it can be a time consuming unappealiing act. But it's all worth it when you produce a great batch. Please consult someone, like my mother, who knows what they are doing! I have been to Busy Bee Cafe a few times as I have lived in ATL for 10 years and attended school in the AUC where Busy Bee Cafe is located. Make sure you check it out if you are ever in the "A".
