I love big burgers and I cannot lie.
One of my favorite burger memories as a kid was going to Mc Donald's. Back when people didn't care what they ate and parents didn't care what they gave their kids :)
Every now and then Mc Donald's would put their Quarter Pounders with cheese on sale for like a $1 and my folks would buy up a dozen or so and put them in the freezer for us to thaw out and microwave later after we got home from school as a "treat". I still remember those tiny little diced salty onions they used to use (before they switched to the bigger chopped onions they use now).
Although I haven't been to a Mc Donald's in probably over a year, I still have fond memories when I drive by the golden arches.

I got beat to the punch! I was going to to a similar post on my blog (sans the Shake Shack which I haven't had access to yet).
I actually ate In N' Out burger while sitting outside a 5 Guys to help with the side by side comparison.
For me, In N' Out clearly won out between those too, so I'm eager to try the Shack Shack for the final showdown.
As much as I love burgers, I'm ashamed to say that I've never had Fuddruckers yet (and there's one in my city).
Next week I'll have to remedy that! I'm a little scared of th cheese sauce, but hopefully my will power will prevail!
I'm headed to Orlando later this month...if I was going only a few days earlier, I would eat one of these bad boys for sure.
I do love pairing a good burger with a thick shake, so it'd be worth the novelty factor to experience a proper mixing of the two.
It's kind of cool knowing where the ingredients on your burger came from. I dig it when a fancy place does right by a burger. Can't wait to try this place out next time I'm in Atlanta.

Someone recommended TrueBurger today to me. It's only about an hour away from me, so I may have to give it a try sooner rather than later!
I didn't know Peter Luger had burgers. It'd be hard to go there and not get steak though.

There's something slightly magical about the original Quarter Pounder's simple combination of American cheese, chopped onions, ketchup, and mustard. What I learned from eating the new Quarter Pounder Habanero Ranch is that original doesn't need improvement. More
@Blaise I actually like lettuce and tomato on a burger. It just didn't work on this burger :)
@flavorcountry I definitely understand the difference between variation and improvement. I wasn't expecting a classic QPC, I wanted to see what they did with the variation and in my opinion, it wasn't good. I just used the classic as a point of reference :) Even the classic QPC patty can be super dry at times...this particular time the sandwich wasn't executed well.
@J. Kenji I don't know if the heat lamp was the cause of the lack of flavor, but it sure dried out the patty. Maybe what little juices are in a QPC done right carry some flavor. I probably could've phrased that sentence better :)
@ilikebagels is there any way to request a freshly cooked patty? I swear I remember having at least a couple of memorable QPCs that were actually still juicy.
