I live in MN! Can't beat a corn dog at the fair, it's the first thing I get. The pickle popsicle wasn't that good, total letdown as I am a pickle person.

@maryn...Thanks for the link. I can't help humorously thinking that Puff Daddy on a stick sounds a bit cannibalistic, as if Sean Combs is being served up as fair food. ;)

Every year I go to the Minnesota State Fair, I try a new food on a stick--this year it was the tator tots. They were fabulous...made me want to try cooking them at home--very flavorful.

Today's the last day of the fair and there are several convention-goers in attendance due to the shorten convention schedule.

@manda - you, me, and "Something About Mary"! It even translates into Hebrew - I said "ha kol yoter tov b'shipud" at a beach party a month ago, and someone said "oh, yeah, Something About Mary, that was a good movie"!

"On a stick" always reminds me of the ventriloquist who had a jalapeno on a stick as part of his act. :)

A great corn dog is my favorite food on a stick but after looking at the Minnesota State Fair lineup, I'm definitely wanting to try some new things that would likely supplant the corn dog on my list:

1. "tator tots (hash browns formed with cheddar cheese, bacon, green onion, sour cream) deep fried on-a-stick"

2. "cajun seasoned alligator sausage on-a-stick"

3. "deep fried smores on-a-stick"

Just wondering about two items I saw...does anyone know what these are: "Puff Daddy on-a-stick" and "Thai One On sausage on-a-stick"? I don't know what they are, but I got a kick out of the names. :)

The Fudge Puppy sounds phenomenal, but the Cinnamon Nut Roll on a stick sounds illegal. This is the first day I've ever wondered why I've never visited Minnesota.

just had a pork chop on a stick... it was good! also had smoked bbq chicken breast, you guessed it, on a stick... good stuff.

I haven't made it down to the Fair for a few years, but I wouldn't be surprised to find some nice Luthern church ladies serving Hot-Dish-On-A -Stick!

I want a Fudge Puppy. Now. Perhaps we can convince Waffles & Dinges that they should serve their waffles on sticks...

As for food on a stick. I love caramel apples with peanuts.

Being from MN during this time is fantastic! We had a third of a pound of maple drenched fried bacon on a stick and found it really tasty, but my husband really liked the foot long pizza on a stick best. It was kind of like a corndog shaped calzone.
