Vietnamese Sandwiches?
They are amazing! So so good. If you are in San Francisco I can point you in the direction of one.

Olive Oil, hopefully the really good stuff my inlaws make. (If I have any left.)
A simple Salmon with lemon and herbs, and whatever veggie looks best at the farmers market.
Jon Stewart hands down. He is just so funny. I would cook him some "california cuisine" and open a great bottle of wine.
I think it does depend a lot on where you are, and what you are buying. I find that their house brand is priced very competitively, and often comes in cheaper. For example their house organic soy milk is the cheapest I have found anywhere. Their cereal bars (my son's snack of choice) are priced the same as the TJ's brand. I live outside of San Francisco, so groceries are expensive no matter where I shop..
I watched a lot of cooking shows for awhile, and then applied what I saw. So I guess a combo of TV and self taught.
Chard with sauteed red onion and a little mustard seed. I could eat it every day.
Thank you all for participating! The winners this week are: ghinson, lisargold, LIRC, Provey, and AlbinoRockstar. You will also be notified by email.
Miss Saigon in Fort Worth has these sandwiches on the menu. It is a little jewel of a restaurant in a strip center near NE Mall and the food is amazing.
Thanks everyone, and thanks from the BF, too. We're gonna go find some bahn mi!!!
Pepper is a definate must. I love it.
Favorite grilling sauce is Veri Veri Teriyaki by Soy Vay. Good on beef, chicken...Even though it's the same sauce, it makes the proteins taste different.
@embolini: If Jacquie's place isn't near you, I would try the smallest Vietnamese places around. One that has just a few tables and does mostly takeout. That's where they may have delicious bahn mi. For example, I get mine in a Vietnamese place which shares a building with an auto exhaust and emissions test shop! Yes, really. And yummy.
I love using lemon-pepper. It works on chicken, steak and grilled veggies.
Just saw in your profile that you're in Boston...found this on Chowhound

Go get one! :)
Oh I love banh mi so much. When I was in college I'd get fresh them at the Vietnamese video store (I know, weird) across the street from my dorm along with an iced Vietnamese coffee.
Now my husband and I treat ourselves to them on the weekends after the farmer's market. If you're in NYC, the one I go to is Saigon Bakery on Broome Street. The video store/bakery I used to go to is on Lafayette.
