Cook the Book: 'The Vegetarian Option'

My wife is a vegetarian, so most dinners come that way. Favorite meals-- for her-- include pasta with goat cheese, walnuts and basil, and sloppy joes made from scratch with veggie crumbles.

Cook the Book: 'Italian Easy'

The pork cooked in milk from "the river cafe cookbook" is about the best thing ever. I owe Rose a debt of gratitude for the "chocolate nemesis". best dessert? Possibly. Best dessert name? By far.

Cook the Book: Lemon Chicken

Well, if you wanted to make a fancier version of this recipe, I'd substitute lemon or lime juice for the lemonade mix, and some tamarind for the ketchup. A little soy sauce, it would be pretty good.

As it stands, I don't see the need for a slow cooker here. Once you've browned the chicken, this would take 20 minutes on the stovetop. Why waste two pans?

Cook the Book: 'New Classic Family Dinners'

My mother would smoke a turkey for dinner one night, and then mix the leftovers into a turkey pasta salad the following day. It was my favorite 1-2 family combination.
