Cook the Book: 'The Pioneer Woman Cooks'

My favorite food blog? Not gonna lie, this one. It's everything. It ties up the other food blogs I read and opens my eyes to other food that I wouldn't have been able to stumble upon on my own.

Gadgets: Pure Komachi 2 Knives

I found a pink Santoku knife at my Target for $6.19! Going back today to find the Chef's for the same price.

They are incredibly sharp that I already nicked my finger. Yea me!

Let's talk knives

OMG, I sold knives in college and no, don't buy them. They are good knives but extremely pricey.

Mexican food boring? What??!?!
I find that hard to believe anyone would say such a thing considering the many regions in Mexico where all the foods are different. You must be thinking Taco Bell is Mexican.

'The Next Food Network Star' Week 3

Debbie lied in the first episode about the dessert being a team effort as well as not getting a lot of people what they had requested and she was apalled at Teddy's lack of integrity? Sheesh. Teddy was wrong but come on Debbie, you lied too.

The Coffee Wars Continue

Thanks for the heads up guys on the sugar-free stuff. We have Dunkin Donuts here but they are scarce and out of the way and who doesn't have Starbucks? They just are hectic on the way into work and well, McDonald's is fast and ready. I think they know me!

Any recommendations on what tastes good at Starbucks without going off on a novel?

From Serious Eats

The Coffee Wars Continue

I love McDonald's. They, as far to my knowledge, are the only fast place that has sugar-free iced coffee and, as a diabetic, makes me happy.

SHIPLEY'S!
OMG, I'm craving some donuts now.
Taco Cabana (for their chicken flautas and tortillas), Whataburger (for their chicken strips with extra gravy for the fries) and definitely some Pollo Loco simply because.

Cook the Book: 'Endangered Recipes' by Lari Robling

My mom used to makes us Kraft Mac and Cheese but with an egg over easy on top. We loved it. Now, as an adult, just the thought of it makes me feel icky mainly because I overdosed on egg yolks.

From Recipes

Sunday Brunch: Amaya's Migas

I ate eggs with potatoes, refried beans, or no fried or smashed, with fresh flour tortillas every morning for the forst 20 years of my life for breakfast made to us by my grandma. Easy, cheap and delicious. Migas, yes, was more of a Lent dish but then again, we rarely ate meat as it was too expensive.

Viva Mexico!

Cook the Book: 'Serious Barbecue' by Adam Perry Lang

I grilled some grilled and after they got smokey flavor with some grilled marks, I placed then in the oven to finish cooking. No one could tell what I did and everyone loved my grilled chicken that wasn't charred black. SUCCESS!!

What Do You Like to Read When Eating Solo?

This was a bad habit of mine. I always had to read while I ate whether I was alone or not. It took a long time but now I refuse to have anything with words near me when I eat including the box of cereal.
