Looking for the best food touristy things I can find

I'll be visiting NYC (from the UK) in September (staying lower Eastside) and am looking for the best food touristy things I can find. After reading your blog, I reckon a tour of Brooklyn could be on the cards, and Shake Shak looks a defo but I'd be grateful for any other specifics. cheers,

Hey Ed - great idea - now you asked for it.

Hey Ed - great idea - now you asked for it. I am coming to NYC in June for my 40th birthday in June, family members from Ireland & England are flying in to meet me there. It's the first time in NYC for all 5 of us. So - the birthday meal - a special occasion but we want to have FUN as well as great food. Should we go to Babbo's on the actual eve of the 4oth? Any other suggestions for that night or the rest of our trip. Our group is mixed from a girl who loves to eat everything to a couple of meat and potato guys who dont like fish or seafood. Cheers!

I live in Nassau County L.

I live in Nassau County L.I. and do not very often travel to the Big Town to dine. Can you suggest a web blog for Island types like myself. Also can you give a good tip for Italian food in the Westbury/Garden City

area. Thanks for the help. You did a fabulous host job on Food Talk.

Bouchon cookbook question

My Bouchon cookbook calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar plus 3 tablespoons. Which is correct? I have seen both all over the internet. Thanks.

The best Hand made Raviols (Carciofi)

I was at a dinner party the other night given by the Italian Counsulate General, and I ate some of the best Hand made Raviols (Carciofi)that I ever had. The CG's wife said they were from a little artisanal producer Located in NY called Pastificio Nicolina, and that the owner Enrico makes them and that he has this cult like following amongst Italian ex-pats. Ed have you ever heard of him, tried them or were I can get my hands on them.

Caught you on Food Talk Great show!

I have a bottle of red wine that NEEDS to be opened soon.

I have a bottle of red wine that NEEDS to be opened soon. I just don't know what type it is. I can't seem to find anything about it online. Would it be poor etiquette to bring it to a wine store? I purchased it from Pet Wines, but it has since closed.

Hi Ed!

Hi Ed!

I'm hosting a dinner party that is based on some Burgundy wines. I'm making Coq au vin and the wine provider suggested we find cheeses indigenous to the Burgundy region. I have a list of nine cheeses but rumour has it that most don't make it through US customs. Any thoughts - maybe a cheese shop that really specializes in French? Murray's has one of the cheeses I believe.

Thanks, and I hope you're doing well.
