There was an issue with an ad that y'all have all identified which is now resolved. Is anyone still having trouble with page loads today?
Old posts disappearing?
We just needed to tweak a publishing setting, these pages are now up-to-date and should be going forward. Thanks for reporting this!

Stop jayne3433, please
We shut down jayne3433 last night, and I took care of Judy Rocca this morning. If we don't catch 'em first, the best way to alert us to spammers is to use the "report an inappropriate comment" link at the bottom of every post which takes you to our contact form. Thanks!
Need Off The Radar Dining Suggestions
We just had some great dishes at Amazing 66 (66 Mott St) including roast chicken with preserved vegetables, Pastrami over spinach (yes, pastrami!), and short rib beef in pumpkin.
Sugar Rush: Pumpkin Ice Cream at Sundaes & Cones
Yay! Glad you liked it. :)

@SqueezeBottle: I hadn't seen this bug reported previously, will get fixed asap!
Predator Ad
We're still trying to work out all the kinks with these new display units. They seem to be most problematic in Safari. In other browsers, you shouldn't see them opening repeatedly except for on rollover.
Pages rolling down then up.... Make it stop
We've switched out the creative so it shouldn't be expanding anymore, and we're troubleshooting the placement issue. Thanks for your patience!
Pages rolling down then up.... Make it stop
Hey folks, thanks for reporting this. This ad unit shouldn't be rolling up and down repeatedly, we'll get this fixed ASAP. When it does happens, is the ad under the orange logo section of the top of the page, or is it out to the right of the page?
Watch It with Us: 'Top Chef Las Vegas,' Ep. 7
Some unexpected bombs tonight. Should be interesting at judges' table.
New features...what's where?
@chiffonade: Where are you not seeing the live comment preview? It's not working on Slice right now and we have a bug filed on that.
RE comment notification: We disabled that feature temporarily while we resolved all the login and account bugs. We will be reenabling shortly!
Edit function: Maybe. We would want to limit the edit window so that it's used to fix typos, etc. and not abused to change the nature of a conversation while in progress. Limiting the edit window is challenging, but not impossible.
Uploading pictures to Talk topics, PM and other social networking features: We are planning for these end of Q1 or Q2.
Emoticons: We are not fans of the animated emoticons, so this is not likely to be added to our new feature list. Feel free to use any old school style emoticons in your posts. :)
The Dessert Files: The Top 5 Pumpkin Sweets to Kick Off Autumn
I nominate the pumpkin ice cream at Sundaes and Cones. I had a scoop in a sugar cone on Sunday, and it totally satisfied my pumpkin dessert (and ice cream!) craving.
Healthy & Delicious: Pumpkin Turkey Chili
Genius! Thanks for sharing this recipe, I'm going to make a batch this week!
Getting logged out...over and over...
@AyeEat The comment submission error is a new bug thanks for reporting it, I'm filing a ticket on it now.
Getting logged out...over and over...
There are 2 different log in issues we've been trying to troubleshoot and resolve this week:
- Logged in, but not able to comment. If you are logged in to SE according to the log in box at the upper right of every page but don't see a comment box on a post, refresh the page and it should appear. This is a temporary workaround.
- Not staying logged in. Up until earlier today, there was a cookie set to expire after 4 hours. We updated it today so it shouldn't expire and are continuing to test to confirm that is the case. To take advantage of the new cookie setting, you will need to clear your cookies and cache once more.
I know it's been a frustrating week for all you regulars, but we will get these issues fixed!
Insert 'Bun in Oven' Joke Here: Padma Lakshmi Is Pregnant
I think you mean "insert 'naan in the oven' joke here." ;)

@BananaMonkey: Thanks for reporting this, it is most certainly a bug! We're working on a fix now, along with adding the ability to filter results by blog.
Dinner in East Village?
why has no one mentioned The Dumpling Man?
Healthy & Delicious: Pumpkin Turkey Chili
Thanks! This sounds great. I like the additional ingredients that you added in.
Dinner in East Village?
I like Motorino on E. 12th for great pizza.......
Supper on E. 2nd for really delicious pastas made fresh to order and DBGB for great burgers.
The East Village is so good.......don't forget about Katz's deli for great pastrami sandwiches, though it is kind of gross in there.
Dinner in East Village?
Cafe Itzocan is really excellent, though on the tiny side. Supper is also very good, especially as the weather gets colder.
NOT the Indian restaurants. They're terrible. But Sigiri is good and different.
Dinner in East Village?
Mama's on east 3rd and Ave A has some awesome comfort food!
Rai Rai Ken (forgot the street...11th? 10th) between 1st and 2nd has really good and authentic Japanese noodles
Little Poland has affordable, hearty Polish food (but I wouldn't reccomend for date night, since it feels like eating in your Polish grandma's kitchen)
Healthy & Delicious: Pumpkin Turkey Chili
this recipe rocks! I made it as soon as I could after reading it. It's delicious. I tripled the spices.
Dinner in East Village?
- BEST sushi (and i just came back from japan): takahachi, av b bet 5/6th
- old-school ev: orlin, st. marks bet 1/2nd
- italian: supper, 2nd & 2nd or della pace on 7th/2nd
- great, but too crowded to ever eat there: clinton st. baking co. on clinton @ houston
Where To Carbo-Load Before The New York Marathon
Aynsl156, doing the same! im ready to attack philly's burgers post-, not sure about pre-.
Dinner in East Village?
The following are my must-eat places:
Caracas for arepas,
Ippudo for ramen,
Taishou for Japanese izakaya,
Polonia for pierogis (better than Veselka in my opinion),
Num Pang for Cambodian style sandwiches,
Panna for Indian,
Sigiri for Sri Lankan,
Porchetta for pork belly,
and Chikalicious for NY's best cupcakes!
All these are in your price range of $30 but Cafe Cortadito is also a must-eat although slightly more expensive.. they have the best churrascos and tres leches in town!
Where To Carbo-Load Before The New York Marathon
I'm running Philly this year on the 22nd. It's my first marathon. Any suggestions for carb-loading options in Philadelphia? I was going to bring a bagel with me from NY to eat on the morning of the race but it probably wouldn't taste very delicious.
Where To Carbo-Load Before The New York Marathon
@chiffonade: Looks like they're not, and doing a Halloween event instead.
Where To Carbo-Load Before The New York Marathon
Doesn't Tavern on the Green do that big carbo load the night before??
Dinner in East Village?
I 2nd @hazenyc Momofuku Ssam is one of the best restaurants in the city, but that's not anything new.
I like Sunburnt cow too, but only if you really like to drink. Otherwise, the unlimites cocktail brunch isn't worth it. Especially since the one time I went, my party was forced to get up and leave our table to make room for other brunchers. We had to finish our cocktails at the bar, which was weird at 1pm.
Dinner in East Village?
i lived in the hood for 3 1/2 years and some of my faves are:
Apiary
Cafecito (cuban .. ave C and 12th st)
DBGB
Sunburnt Cow (for unlimited cocktail brunch -- Ave C. also)
Soba-Ya
Do-Sirak (korean food NOT korean bbq)
Mama Mexico Centro
Hiro (for sushi)
The Smith (for Brunch only)
Caracas (venezuelan arepas)
Momofuku Ssam
Dinner in East Village?
supper, terroir, or the new motorino! all fabulous options...
Dinner in East Village?
Mostly to second peeps above -
warm borscht at Veselka's
The Stage diner on 2nd btwn 7th and 8th (fried meatloaf)
Itzocan is great "french" mexican (someone above mentioned) but could go over the $30.
Cafe Mogador - and east village classic (esp the brunch)
Criff Dogs
Caracas
brunch at the Smith
Dinner in East Village?
the redhead (a little over the $30 for two limit, but bacon peanut brittle? COME ON)!! caracas, veselka, paul's place for burgers (and the smith on sunday nights - burger and a beer for $14), pylos (mezethes at least), westville east, cafe rakka, and of course artichoke.
whenever friends come into town and ask me to pick a cheap dinner spot, i take them to akina sushi on 14th btwn 1st and A. very reasonable prices and fresh, delicious sushi - and it's BYOB
Dinner in East Village?
paprika on st marks b/w 1st and A for yummy italian
la palapa between 1st and 2nd for mexican.. or cheaper and still delicious: benny's burrito's on Ave A and 6th St.
go sushi (i think this is what it's called) on st marks b/w 2nd and 3rd has good, cheap sushi. it's under a red awning and has a little outdoor seating area.
khyber pass for afghan food a few doors down..
acme on great jones b/w lafayette and broadway has an awesome brunch deal.
village yokocho on stuyvesant st. @ 3rd avenue, 2nd floor. and if you want drinks, go to angel's share behind the wood door to the left when you walk in.
Dinner in East Village?
I would try Supper (2nd and A), Caracas (7th btwn 1st and A), Max (B btwn 3rd and 4th), Veselka, Criff Dogs (yum!).... there are soo many!
Dinner in East Village?
Under $30 together or per person?
I always like to talk up Yuca Bar on 7th and A. Fabulous Tapas and cheap happy hour mojitos. Also Mamouns on St. Marks b/w 2nd and 3rd is great: cheap falafel and shwarma.
Oh and Crif Dogs! And Hummus Place! Avenue A Sushi and Momofuku Noodle bar! So many great options!
Dinner in East Village?
If you like Mexican, try Itzocan on 9th and Avenue A
Dinner in East Village?
Kasadela on 11th and C.. great wings and sake selection, mostly small plates that are reasonably priced, friendly staff.
Dinner in East Village?
Living on 7th I would have to recommend Virage (7th st and 2nd ave)
Try the "Hot & Spicy Penne Ala Vodka" (some of the best i have ever had) with a side of Steamed Spinach (complements the pasta very well)
also for Lunch the Grilled Chicken BLT is great (comes with salad and fries seasoned very nicely)
Great place for a solid meal and they deliver
