You can not refer to this as "PESTO: The name is the contracted past participle of the Genoese word pestâ (Italian: pestare) which means "to pound, to crush" in reference to the sauce's crushed herbs and garlic. The true recipe for "PESTO" is with basil...not broccoli...This is nothing but a bastardized version...and not even a good one!

You're the on that sounds like the pretentious snob...I don't need to know your name and I don't want to be your friend...I am there for a meal. As for the gum...if they expect you to put in your hand, then you have the right to say no, and bring them a plate to put it on. Pretty simple I'd say!
As to your last comment: "If you're reasonably nice and leave a reasonably nice tip, you're good by me." Wow, everyone goes to a restraurant and is seriously concerned about what the waiter thinks of they...as long as they leave a good tip. I leave a tip based on the service and the food! So, I say do your job, stut up and you will get a good tip..or quit.

There are thousands of people that think sandra lee and her so called cooking show is a joke...and it is. Like a lot of people, I looked at her God awful list of things she threw together...canned pie filling in the center of a store bought angel food cake and corn nuts on to of canned frosting and pop corn and topped off with big ass candles...my only suggestion id to replace the candles with dynamite!
Sorry to bad mouth your cooking idol, but she sucks...and so does food tv...haven't watched their disappointing network in years...thankfully, there are great cooking shows on PBS!

As far as taking liberties with dish names..I couldn't agree more.
A good example would be Caesar Salad...listed on a menu and pasted off as lettuce (and not even romaine!) covered in some awful dressing...sometimes ranch...topped with a few plain pieces of dried bread cubes and maybe a little grated cheese...obviously no Parmesan

I ate there before it bacame famous and thay had an attitude then! OH, and I never went back..thy Mustard Grill instead

Seriously...Bobby is an arrogant, rude, obnoxious, egomaniac. You want a talented BBQ guy...Jack McDavid...remember him on Chillin' and Grillin'...Bobby was continually criticizing and made fun of him...for cooking over charcoal instead of gas!

This recipe is an Emeril rip off...even the ingredient list is the same!
