AHT Giveaway: Case of Pat LaFrieda Burgers

My first burger like many was McDonald's. I ate hamburgers, but one day tried my first cheeseburger and hated it...at first. Also, could not stand onions as a kid, I called them "ungins"! Need to mention I would completely drench my burgers in ketchup.

Poll: How do you like your fries?

I totally for about waffle fries! Yes those are good!

Classic!!! HAHAHAHA

Elevation Burger

Best Veggie Burger

"Veggie burger" - those two words should not be put together.

The perfect burger bun

Agree with Ozersky. Use a nice soft bun. You don't need anything fancy when it comes to the bun.

What type of pickle with your burger?

I have this weird thing where I like crinkle cut pickles better then the flat cut ones. Not sure why, but it's been like this since I was a kid.

Square Burger Phobia?

Square, circle, triangle, rhombus...whatever! If it's a burger I want to eat it!

Elevation Burger?

How do you prefer your burger?

Open face says to me leave off what you don't like. I don't like that idea. I want to eat the burger just as the chef intended!

How often do you eat Burger?

I do a burger review once a week, but the funny thing is I would eat more burgers before I started this burger blog. Sometimes 3 a week. Now I have to supress my burger appetite because I have to try a new place all the time.

Griddle or Grill???

At home I use a cast iron pan, sear both sides, and finish to a nice medium-rare in the oven!

I like the griddle because you can get that nice sear on the whole surface area of the patty.

The grill seems to give it that smokiness which works well with beef.

So hard to choose.

New Buffalo, MI: Bite Into a Legendary Burger at Redamak's

I guess that answers the question "Where's the beef?"

New York City Burger Joints

Well I am back! Thanks for the recommendations everyone, but I only got to try two places: Rare Bar and Grill and The Spotted Pig

Will have burger reviews out on these two places soon.

New York City Burger Joints

@kcijones001 We got a shake shack down here, although I still haven't tried it...I will take a look at JG Mellon, trying to have a burger experience in NY you can't get anywhere else.

@MMinNYC I don't mind the splurge on a burger, a great burger is worth every penny to me! Thanks for the feedback!

Elevation Burger's New Conveyor Belt Griddle

I recently tried Elevation Burger and was beyond disappointed!

How to Bake a Potato

I use the microwave method. I rinse under water, stab with fork 3 or 4 times, wrap in paper towel, and then microwave for 5 minutes. When done wrap in foil until you are ready to serve.

Baking/searing burgers: problems getting done?

I would suggest searing first and finishing in the oven. (Make sure you use a cast iron pan for searing)

I sear each side for 3 minutes on medium-high heat and then finish another 3-4 minutes in a 400F oven. Comes out perfect.

Hot Sauce(like 3 different kinds)
BBQ sauce(swwet and spicy)
A1
Salsa
Soy sauce
Worcestershire
Salad dresssings(like 20 of them)

Yet again, Hamburgers.

I use a cast iron pan on medium high heat. I drop once smoke is almost rising from pan. Every stove is different, but for me I do about 3 minutes per side to get the sear and finish another 3 minutes in the oven to get that inside to a nice medium-rare.

Your Best Brunch Definition?

A combination of breakfast and lunch!

How to Make Grilled Patty Melts

Can't we just call it a burger inspired take on a patty melt? And I'm okay with the American cheese, it has it's places! Sounds and looks delicious to me!

Tonight's Special Burger at Rub BBQ: The Blackened Burger

Nice char on that thing!

Bar Eats: reBar

I think pasta on a burger is too much for me. Just give me a nice slice of melted, gooey cheese and I'm a happy camper. Maybe, a nice cheese sauce if you want to be different.

Secret Sauce Recipes

Now we know the one thing that can set a burger apart from another burger is the secret/special/house sauce. Every burger joint seems to put their own little spin on it. Some work and some do not.

Do you have any homemade secret sauce recipes for burgers? Or who serves up your favorite secret sauce?

Griddle or Grill???

I wanted to take of a poll or survey with you fellow burger lovers!

When it comes to a burger cooking method, what do you prefer: griddle, grill, or some other method? Also why?
