A burger enthusiast!
I LOVE the juicy, earthy, snap of mushrooms on a burger!!! SO FREAKING GOOD!
I must say, that burger looks and sounds impressive!
MMMMMMMMMM!!! JG MELON!!! SO GOOD!
JG Melon burger is melt in your mouth good!!! My fav burger in NY, although I have yet to try Minetta Tavern.
I reviewed the JG Melon burger not that long ago and yes it was freking delicious!!! One of my favs! Definitely better than the Peter-Luger burger, but still have to try Minetta Tavern which I heard serves a pretty amazing burger.
Great post!
My first burger like many was McDonald's. I ate hamburgers, but one day tried my first cheeseburger and hated it...at first. Also, could not stand onions as a kid, I called them "ungins"! Need to mention I would completely drench my burgers in ketchup.
I totally for about waffle fries! Yes those are good!
Classic!!! HAHAHAHA
Elevation was a major disappoinment for me! http://www.954burgerboi.com/2011/05/elevation-burger-coral-springs-fl.html
"Veggie burger" - those two words should not be put together.
Agree with Ozersky. Use a nice soft bun. You don't need anything fancy when it comes to the bun.
I have this weird thing where I like crinkle cut pickles better then the flat cut ones. Not sure why, but it's been like this since I was a kid.
Square, circle, triangle, rhombus...whatever! If it's a burger I want to eat it!
Yeah Elevation was a let down for me! I reviewed them as well!

Open face says to me leave off what you don't like. I don't like that idea. I want to eat the burger just as the chef intended!
I do a burger review once a week, but the funny thing is I would eat more burgers before I started this burger blog. Sometimes 3 a week. Now I have to supress my burger appetite because I have to try a new place all the time.
At home I use a cast iron pan, sear both sides, and finish to a nice medium-rare in the oven!
I like the griddle because you can get that nice sear on the whole surface area of the patty.
The grill seems to give it that smokiness which works well with beef.
So hard to choose.
I guess that answers the question "Where's the beef?"
Well I am back! Thanks for the recommendations everyone, but I only got to try two places: Rare Bar and Grill and The Spotted Pig
Will have burger reviews out on these two places soon.

@kcijones001 We got a shake shack down here, although I still haven't tried it...I will take a look at JG Mellon, trying to have a burger experience in NY you can't get anywhere else.
@MMinNYC I don't mind the splurge on a burger, a great burger is worth every penny to me! Thanks for the feedback!
I recently tried Elevation Burger and was beyond disappointed!
I use the microwave method. I rinse under water, stab with fork 3 or 4 times, wrap in paper towel, and then microwave for 5 minutes. When done wrap in foil until you are ready to serve.
I would suggest searing first and finishing in the oven. (Make sure you use a cast iron pan for searing)
I sear each side for 3 minutes on medium-high heat and then finish another 3-4 minutes in a 400F oven. Comes out perfect.

Now we know the one thing that can set a burger apart from another burger is the secret/special/house sauce. Every burger joint seems to put their own little spin on it. Some work and some do not.
Do you have any homemade secret sauce recipes for burgers? Or who serves up your favorite secret sauce?
I'm interested in hearing what is the one condiment you would put on a burger if you could only have one.
This is sort of the battle of mayo, mustard, or ketchup, but if you prefer something more fancy let me know!
I wanted to take of a poll or survey with you fellow burger lovers!
When it comes to a burger cooking method, what do you prefer: griddle, grill, or some other method? Also why?
I will be taking a trip to NYC in 2 weeks and looking for some recommendations on burger joints to visit, as this is my specialty. Please let me know the MUST visit spots!
954 Burger Boi hasn't favorited a post yet.
I feel like anytime I see a sunny side egg on a burger, that becomes my immediate favorite!
