@Les ah - small quibble - it is birdshot, if the poor dear was hit by buck shot, there wouldnt be much of a meal, for a human at least. but your point about them being left behind is very important, actually.

@jlewfoodie - I agree - mine were the same way, and vaguely fishy?, but not in a good fish kinda way.

i used to work retail in grand central terminal - if you know the zoo - you were on display in these glass fronted boxes - kinda amsterdam redlight, but not quite, no breaks - and you ate standing up, in the store, in front of customers....and commuters....eff'em. you are busy.
