Helpful hints for make-ahead gravy?

Hello and an early happy holidays to the Serious Eats Community!

I am deep-frying my turkey this year (and I've read countless articles on techniques and pre-cautions!) but I wanted to make a gravy for my tradition-loving father. I would greatly appreciate any tips or hints for making a great gravy ahead of time!
