What to do with stale macaron shells?
I made macarons last week but unfortunately didn't have enough mouths to feed them to, and the unfilled extra shells have gotten hard and stale. Do y'all have any idea if I can do something with them? They're alright eaten plain - a different texture than I'd like but I wonder if I can transform them into something else. I was thinking maybe crushing them into a sweet topping for fruit? Any other ideas?
