Ethiopian Spice Mystery

My husband and I picked up a few goodies from a local Ethiopian store, the only problem is there were no English labels so we had to guess what we were buying. There's one item we still can't figure out... so please help!

This may be a seed or berry- the outside is light brown and cream colored in the same size and shape as mustard or coriander seeds. The texture is soft-ish (edible) with a hull that opens to a tiny seed inside. It has strong lemony flavor with floral and peppery notes as well.

Any ideas?
