I was inspired by the gift suggestion in the latest Bon Appetit (sorry, no link). My family always has oyster dressing, and therefore have started a tradition of saving some for raw oysters during our cocktail hour. Problem is, my family is in Illinois, and far, far from any ocean, so our oysters are delivered in a bucket. This was never a problem until I was inspired to consume oysters out of the context of our family tradition. Needless to say, it's less enjoyable to go back.
I'd love to gift my dad some super fresh oysters on the half shell to enjoy instead. Anyone have a good source of oysters that would ship for delivery on Christmas, that isn't outrageously expensive? Most that I've found ship 50 oysters... ideally, I'd have half that quantity. Thanks!
