Annually my wife and I, plus a few friends make a trip downtown to shop and see Christmas decorations. My highlight is generally Saturday dinner (Publican, Frontera, the late Brasserie Jo), but this year, we're forgoing a reservation anywhere to fit in more shopping. I've read the cheap eats guide to Michigan/State, but we don't necessarily need to be that cheap. What other suggestions do you have for Saturday evening, most likely in the River North area without waiting too long (I'm afraid the Purple Pig is out for this reason--am I right?). Is the Lobby Bar at the James Hotel for a David Burke burger reasonable? What else within a block or two of Michigan is an option?
