Welcome to our Weekend Cook and Tell where each Wednesday we turn the pages of the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
We've seen this topic posted over and over again in Talk: "What meals can I make that are freezer friendly?" Whether you're asking because you are about to have a new baby, are bringing meals to friends, or simply making weekday life easier, freezer-friendly meals have the ability to provide a hearty meal with a not so hearty prep time.
This week in The Washington Post's recipe section, eight "make it, freeze it, take it" meals were featured. Their recommendations included filling soups, meatballs, rice, and more to tide you over during the stormy winter season. What do you cook ahead of time and freeze to give or to reheat later? Do you have a signature gifted dish?
Share your frosted-fare on Photograzing (make sure to include "Weekend Cook and Tell" in your submission title) and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. You can now also pin your creation on your Pinterest board as well. Please use the hashtag, #cookandtell, and tag us, @Serious Eats in your pin's text.
We'll post a round-up of your ideas, recipes, and experiences the following Wednesday, November 14th.
