I would like recommendations for the best bagels and for the best bagel "plus stuff" in Manhattan. The reasons/parameters are that I will be bringing my teen daughter to NYC in October for her first visit to the City. We like bagels a great deal and I make pretty darn good ones here in the sunny South. "Not sweet" and "chewy/dense" are success markers here at home. Typically a bit of cream cheese does the trick for us, but sometimes more is more. We will stay in Midtown or Murray Hill and would love to try several recommendations. Let the debate begin!
