The open-faced toasted marshmallow cheese toast

Has anyone ever told their friends/significant other about a dish their parents used to make for them and had them recoil in horror?

When I was younger, my parents would make these toasted treats for myself and my two siblings. It consisted of a piece of bread, a slice of American cheese and mini-marshmallows. The cheese was placed on top of the bread, and the marshmallows carefully aligned on top of the cheese in orderly little rows. Then the whole thing went in the toaster oven until the marshmallows were browned and the cheese was gooey. The resulting combination of toasted marshmallow and salty cheese was an interesting one, but not as terrible as you might think.

I told my husband about it one day and he looked at me like I had totally lost my mind. So I'm asking, anyone else have a similar experience?
