Hey Serious Eaters!
I try to stay away from Midtown when I'm not at work, but my parents are coming into town tomorrow and I don't want to schlep all over the city with them. They are from the suburbs, so immediately cringe at high prices and long treks on the subway. (Yes, I'm adopted. It all makes sense.)
I'm looking for a great place for lunch near Carnegie Hall, and also any suggestions for a budget-friendly dinner that isn't too fancy. They like Italian food, basic, boring American stuff, and a place they can wear jeans and sneakers to. They're not farmers or rednecks, but they are simple, and far from serious eaters.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
