Welcome to our Weekend Cook and Tell where each Wednesday we click our way through the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
This week Georgeanne Brennan of the San Francisco Chronicle is talking about her affection for the Dutch oven and we can't really blame her. The Dutch oven is perhaps the most versatile piece of kitchen equipment around. It can sear, braise, boil, steam, sauté, and even act as a makeshift bread oven. Basically we'd be lost in the kitchen without our Dutch ovens.
For this week's challenge we want to hear about your Dutch oven cooking adventures. What's the best dish that's ever emerged from your oven? How long have you had it and where did it come from? Let us know all about your relationship with this most versatile piece of kitchen equipment.
Show us photos of your Dutch oven dinners on Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title) and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your Dutch oven ideas, recipes, and experiences next Wednesday.
