The case of the $15. glass of wine....
I fell into an old trap, perhaps of my own making. What do you think? I was waiting at the bar of a fashionable restaurant and ordered a glass of wine. The bar manager helped me narrow it down to a red, 1099 Sequoia Grove to be exact. He offered a sip and I accepted. It was a decent pour. To my surprise, the bill came to $15 before tax & tip. I could have substituted a bottle of good wine for two Sequoias. Should I have been told the price beforehand, or should I have asked up front? Why did he go to the most expensive?
I did not make an issue of it and just went on with the evening...
