I'm going to Venice Beach/Santa Monica this week. I lived here several years ago and a lot has changed. I could use a few recommendations for newer places to try out (restaurants, bars, etc). Although I'll have a car I am staying right by the beach so I can walk to most places.

I'll also likely hit Canter's and a few other non west LA places, but I would like to keep this mini vacation as relaxed and as casual as possible. any suggesions would be great.
