Is stainless steel cookware oven safe?

I'm planning to make pot roast this weekend and the recipe calls for searing the beef, adding the remaining ingredients, then baking everything in the oven for 2 1/2 hours on 250. The only pot I have that is large enough is my stainless steel dutch oven. Can I put a stainless steel pot in the oven? Or should I run out to get a cast iron pot?
