Hello and welcome once again to our Weekend Cook and Tell where every Wednesday we leaf the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
Feel that chill in the air? Smell something sweet wafting through the air? That's because it's officially cookie baking season. Flour, sugar, and other baking necessities are piled high (not to mention on sale) at many markets and the majority of this week's newspaper food sections are bursting with cookie content, like this great piece about a bakery featuring cookies from around the world in the Chicago Sun-Times. Oh and we're smack in the middle of our third annual baking marathon, A Cookie A Day 2011 in which we bake a batch of cookie and share the recipe with you every day in December!
For this week's challenge we're talking cookies, sweet, buttery, sharable holiday cookies. We want to hear all about the cookies that you're baking. Are batches of pfeffernüsse and pizzelles flying out of your kitchen? Or perhaps chocolate chips and ginger chews? We want to know all about what sorts of cookies you're going to be baking this season.
Show us photos of your cookie creations and recipes on Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title) and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your butteriest and sugariest ideas and experiences next Wednesday.
