Welcome once again to the Weekend Cook and Tell where every Wednesday we peruse the food sections of various national newspapers in search of inspiration for a weekend cooking project. We hope you'll cook along with us and share your experiences, recipes, and photos here.
Opening up the food section of any paper this week and it's pretty obvious that we're all deep into Thanksgiving pregame mode. The planners among us already have menus charted out and pies and stocks hibernating in the freezer, and the rest of us are surely trolling newspapers, magazines and favorite recipe sites in search of the perfect turkeys, stuffings, sides, cranberries, and all that other good stuff. After all, Thanksgiving is the holiday where we're pretty much all doing some sort of cooking.
For this week's challenge we want to hear about your T-Day game plan. We're looking for not only menus but also fantastic make-again dishes from Thanksgivings gone by, unforgettable pies, savory stuffings, and glamor shots of your velvetiest gravy. Are we looking for a bit of Thanksgiving inspiration? Well, sure but we promise it'll benefit everyone come next Thursday. And just so you know, this challenge is a two-parter. Next week we're going to ask all of you to let us know how your Thanksgiving celebrations turned out.
Show us photos of your turkey day plans and recipes on Photograzing (make sure to include "Cook and Tell" in your submission title) and tell us about your recipes here! If you'd like to blog the experience, please leave a link in the comments below. We'll post a round-up of your best Thanksgiving pregaming ideas, and experiences next Wednesday.
