Vegetarian French onion soup recipe anyone?

I remember hearing about a vegetarian French onion soup recipe.... But I can't remember where.
I've found 2 online ( one uses balsamic and one uses miso).... But no idea if they are good. Does anyone have one or know of one that is good?
