Philippino Cuisine

So I feel a little bit ignorant. I recently met a lady who was born and raised in the Philippines until she was 14, then the rest of the time she spent in Hawaii and California. I've invited her and her husband over for Thanksgiving and I'd really like to surprise her with a typical Philippino dish to make her feel special but I know ABSOLUTELY ZILCH about Philippino cuisine. I know that Adobo seasoning is Philippino, and that they eat a lot of rice, but that about it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
