Cuban black beans recipes

Whenever I go to a Latin American/Cuban restaurant, my favorite side dish to get is the black beans (since that's one of the rare vegan dish available on the menu). I asked the staff for the recipe when I brunched today, but they were hush-hush about it. Anyone got a recipe so I can recreate this legume superstar at home? Thanks~
